GCR 3.01 Irons click for large pictureclick for large picture

The game of golf has changed dramatically over the past decade, and the demands on the performance of equipment have reached a new level. Technology has produced many innovations in golf equipment, but there is still the need to harness that technology with form and function and produce an iron, that looks like an iron, for the better golfer and for those who appreciate a more classical design. For these people, there is the GCR 3.01 iron.

Formed from 431 stainless steel and then thermostatically heat treated to a technical measurement of HRC19-23. the GCR 3.01 iron featuring Transitional MassÔ technology is a high performance cavity iron designed for players seeking the ultimate in feel, workability, shot control and overall performance while maintaining the profile of a classic blade.

Transitional MassÔ technology in simple terms is progressively biased lineal weight movement throughout the set to create a lower centre of gravity in long irons to make it easier to get the ball airborne, and a higher centre of gravity in the short irons to produce a lower, more controlled ball flight. Transitional MassÔ weight distribution is also employed in the face thickness of each iron throughout the set that concentrates more mass in the exact centre of gravity in each iron for unmatched feel, feedback and forgiveness.

Look at this iron closely..... study the progressive offset and narrow cambered sole with calibrated bounce that is ground to a radius of 2.5mm to provide versatility on all playing surfaces and lies. Look at the thin 2mm radiused top line..... consider how it sets up to the ball. Consider how the mass transitions through each cavity design in the set, so as to have the centre of percussion in the perfect position for each iron to achieve optimum effectiveness..... and realise that this is as pure, as classical, and as functional as an iron can be while combining the technology of tomorrow with the classics of yesteryear.

To ensure that each set of GCR 3.01 irons is a proper set, each entire set is built one at a time rather than making batches of individual irons. Technicians precisely match the weights of each head to each shaft, ferrule, and grip. Lightweight Transitional MassÔ steel or graphite shafts are not only perfectly calibrated for correct flex, but weight sorted for consistency across each set. These measures ensure that every iron in every set will have unrivalled consistency from the #2 iron to the Pitching Wedge.
